Biography
Michael E. Mitchell, M.D., is a paediatric urologist internationally recognised for innovations in bladder exstrophy–epispadias repair and reconstructive lower-urinary-tract surgery. Long affiliated with the University of Washington and Seattle Children's, he has published landmark papers on complete primary repair of exstrophy, bladder neck reconstruction, and augmentation cystoplasty in children. He co-edited Bladder Augmentation (Arnold, 2000) with Paddy Dewan, assembling specialist chapters on enterocystoplasty, autoaugmentation, complications, and emerging technologies.
