Biography

Lloyd R. Jenkinson trained as an aircraft apprentice at Blackburn Aircraft, later earning aeronautical diplomas and an MSc from Cranfield and a PhD in aircraft optimisation at Loughborough University. He has combined industrial project design with consultancy and part-time senior lecturing in final-year aircraft design at Loughborough and the University of Southampton. With Paul Simpkin and Darren Rhodes he wrote Civil Jet Aircraft Design (Arnold, 1999), a systematic introduction to sizing, structures, propulsion integration, and cost for large transport jets.
