Biography

Darell D. Bigner, M.D., Ph.D., is Edwin L. and Lucille F. Jones Cancer Distinguished Research Professor at Duke University and founding Director Emeritus of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. A neuropathologist and tumour biologist, he has led multidisciplinary programmes on primary and metastatic CNS malignancies, monoclonal antibody and immunotoxin therapeutics, and translational neuro-oncology. He was the founding Editor-in-Chief of Neuro-Oncology and has co-authored major pathology and oncology texts, including contributions to Russell and Rubinstein's Pathology of Tumors of the Nervous System lineage.
