Biography
Dan Cohn-Sherbok is an American-born Reform rabbi and theologian who was Professor Emeritus of Judaism at the University of Wales (now University of Wales Trinity Saint David). Ordained at Hebrew Union College and trained in philosophy at Cambridge (Wolfson College), he directed the Centre for the Study of Religion and Society at the University of Kent before moving to Wales. He has published more than a hundred monographs and edited volumes on biblical interpretation, Jewish philosophy, messianism, and modern Jewish history—including reference and survey works used internationally—and co-authored Jews in the Modern World as a concise historical companion.
