Biography

Brian Porter (LCG, FIOC, Cert Ed) is a leading author of illustrated vocational texts in carpentry and joinery. Formerly a lecturer at Leeds College of Building, he worked with Reg Rose on Hodder Arnold titles such as Carpentry and Joinery: Bench and Site Skills and Carpentry and Joinery: Work Activities, which map NVQ/SVQ activities from setting out and marking to assembly and fixing. Their books have been widely adopted on craft certificates and apprenticeships in the UK and overseas.
