Biography
John Ronald Forbes was a Guy's-trained general physician who spent most of his consultant career in North Wales. Clinical Examination of Patients with Notes on Laboratory Diagnosis (Edward Arnold, 1950) was written with William N. Mann, then head of medicine at Guy's; the 323-page volume illustrated how bedside technique and the emerging post-war laboratory should be recorded in parallel. The Royal College of Physicians' biographical archive summarises his wartime naval service and long civilian practice in Wrexham.
